Dandy's Topsoil Owner Adam Dandy said "We are so proud to have been shortlisted for such a prestigous award, we are constantly improving our business to remain market leaders, what started off by growing and selling fruit and vegetables grown in Chester's rich topsoil in the early 1800's has turned full circle and it is the City's high quality topsoil which once again provides us and those who work at Dandys with an income over a centuary and a half later. However in order to stay one step ahead of the competition we are constantly improving what we do and embrasing new technology and ideas.
Our biggest enterprise over the past 12 months was the purchase and commisioning of our bio-diesel production plant which recycles waste cooking oil from local Chester resturants into high quality diesel to power our delivery fleet on. This was done for two reasons, firstly to reduce the company's overheads but secondly and more importantly to reduce our carbon footprint and to become the first topsoil supplier to be carbon neutral.
to be shortlisted for such an award is an acolade to the hard work and dedication of my team here at Dandy's Topsoil, for which i thank them all".
